SHOULD CHRISTIANS WORRY?

The answer is obvious.

We who claim a relationship with Almighty God thru a living faith in Jesus Christ should never allow doubt to enter our minds, but we do it.

What is it that makes us worry?

The answer is also obvious. We like to walk by sight just as we did before we received the gift of ETERNAL LIFE.

I am most grateful to our Father that he allows us to grow in our faith and does not require us to be there all at once.

I believe that worry or the art of worrying is the result of infrequent reading of the Bible or at least not feeding upon what it really says.

I know we are supposed to study God's Word and some do. But, it is probably true that most of us just read.

Now, if you ask the Holy Spirit to help you when you read it I guarantee the time will not be time wasted. He is right in your "born again" heart and is ready to make you a better witness for Jesus all the time.

SHOULD CHRISTIANS WORRY?

Capt. Ben Marler, Jr.
Our witness is one of the most important things we have. First we have a

refreshing account to share with any one who will listen. Out witness

reveals the greatest miracle that has occurred to us. Just to think that

God drew us to His Son Jesus by our hearing the Gospel account of His life, death and resurrection is phenomenal. This had to include the passion of

Jesus as He took our place on the Cross. This whole affair was designed

by God, just like His awesome creation, to move us in our hearts. No one can listen and be unmoved. If they aren't then their heart is so hard only God Himself can reach them. By the way, He can do all things. I saw Him reach some of the hardest in the County Jail where He sent me to preach.

Getting back to the original question, I believe we should see ourselves as if hanging by a strong rope from heaven. God supplies the rope (our faith) and He wants us to read and read and live what we read so the rope becomes larger and stronger everyday. If we allow ourselves to doubt what He has clearly said it appears to me we are adding a corrosive acid to the rope. As most know acids are extremely damaging to what ever they contact.

I have been burned by battery acid. It hurts. By the way, if you ever have this happen to you wash in water immediately. This is symbolic of the Holy Spirit who will quickly come to your rescue and remove the acid and repair your faith. Isn't He wonderful.

I suspect God cuts us a lot more slack than we tend to allow others. As we grow up I believe He is loving when he reduces the amount allowed. Now, not speaking of deadly sins but our willingness to avoid doing what we realize is our duty as one of His children. This is what Christianity is all about. We are being raised up from the dead to the eternal life that only those who have repented of their sins can expect. We already have Eternal Life. His Word declares it in simplicity. Read 1 John 5:12 and see for yourself.

Do we not worry when we don't see God answer our prayers instantly? Of

course we do but is that fair to God? I don't think so. He said that

His Ways are not ours for they are higher. I believe He is doing a lot all the time. I know when we sold our home and our large commercial boat He

answered our prayers when the right people were ready to buy them. We had dedicated our home and boat to Him in a formal way and He wasn't going to let just anyone have them.

When we have someone who is sick we all want to see an instant miracle.

But, is this what He is accomplishing when he allowed it. Most of the time

I believe we have brought our illness upon ourselves and we did so by

breaking some of the rules for having good health. This is equally true f

or those whom we pray for. If we would just ask Him I believe He would tell us if we leaned upon His breast.

It is interesting that John was given the REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST while exiled upon the Island of Patmos. He was an old man but still leaning up on Jesus. This work of God is very important to the Christians in these last days. If you read it you will see that the Lord takes His Church out before the terrible things begin to happen. This gives me a lot of peace and makes me want to be closer to Him each day. Do you know anyone can be close to God? He is no respecter of persons. Anyone who will draw near to Him He will draw near to them. This is one of His promises.

So, what should we be doing now? I believe two things are mandatory. First

to keep our mouths filled with PRAISE. Secondly, we should be making a

daily commitment to do His will. I discovered Ephesians 2:10 a long time

ago. It made it easy for me as all I had to do was quote it back to Him

in 1st person singular. You know "We are His workmanship. We have been created in Christ Jesus to do the GOOD WORKS that He has (carefully) prepared for us to do. (every day)" If you want to see what I mean begin today. This is where the Joy of the Lord is hidden. It is like the manna that preserved the Israelites as they walked to freedom.

There is freedom from worry and you can find the answers right here. God

has given me this message as I look out upon the beautiful snow covered

mountains of Montana. The sky is so clear the heavens seem to come down

to us at night revealing ever more clearly the awesome creativity of the One we call our Father. Do not worry anymore. It makes Him look bad.
