WEAK FAITH

I believe weak faith is the reason for apathy in the family of God.

Please allow me to explain.  The Bible teaches that, “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Words of Jesus.”

This means every time you and I listen to the Word of God, we receive a bit of faith.  I know this is true by experience.  However, this faith, in my opinion, is low yield in its ability to help us labor in the kingdom.

Please ask yourself this question.  How strong is my faith on a scale of 1 to 10, and lets be honest about it.

If a 10 will remove mountains and uproot sycamore trees and plant them in the sea where do you stand?

If you want to know more, read on.

WEAK FAITH-STRONG FAITH

Capt. Ben Marler

At the end of the earthly ministry of our Lord Jesus He said in an almost
sad way, “will the Son of Man find faith when He returns?”

I believe He said this already knowing He wouldn’t.  I hope this message will have you evaluate your own faith so you can become a great servant of God.

You may already be serving the Lord to the best of your ability and I salute you for it but do you believe you could be doing more?  I bet your answer is yes!  As we look around we see so many “Christians” doing little or nothing to continue the establishment of the Kingdom of God in their communities.  Isn’t this so?

If you want stronger faith you must exercise!

Many people are finding their way to health clubs and gyms.  They want to build their bodies up and hopefully add some more years to their lives.  These are the ones who are generally very careful about their diet too.  They eat well and have a discipline to put the calories to work.  This is a good analogy and can be useful if we desire to build strong faith.

If you stop and think about it shouldn’t we read some of the Bible everyday? Even one verse is better than none at all.  Actually, one verse can help you begin a program of building your faith.

There is a verse in the bible that tells us “unless the Lord builds the
house those who build it labor in vain.”  I think this applies to everything
in the spiritual ream.  So before we begin to build our faith, it is
imperative that we go to the Holy Spirit in prayer and ask for His guidance. He will give us verses that are applicable to our daily life.

The Book of Proverbs is full of these verses.  Then we should memorize them and apply them as often as possible.  In the health clubs they call this doing “reps” or repetitions.  Again, we need to think in terms of a full body workout.  We should be very happy when we see God’s Word working in our life and actually celebrate it.

Most Christians do not have a burden for the lost.  I can prove this
statement with a question.  How many times have you been confronted by a fellow believer seeking to lead you into a saving relationship with Jesus?  I can tell you in my near 63 years I can remember perhaps two times. Hopefully, you have been approached more than this but I think this makes my point.

We who claim a personal relationship with Jesus should be actively seeking God’s will for our daily lives.  This can be quickly accomplished by using Ephesians 2:10 as the basis our daily commitment prayer.

I can assure you that nothing is more important to the heart of our God our Heavenly Father than the spreading of the Good News Gospel of Jesus to the world.  If you know something more important, I hope you will share it with me real soon. You will not be able to do this with out strong faith.

If your faith is weak, like most Christians, you will be intimidated and probably won’t take advantage of your opportunities.

Now, please understand I’m not saying you are to become an evangelist and stand on street corners or other such places.  I am saying you should have your personal testimony down pat for a one-minute or hopefully five-minute presentation.  I have witnessed to thousands and the number of people who object to my “loving approach” is miniscule.  Many listen attentively to my story.  They want to hear how God changed my life.

All who have experienced the new birth have an exciting story to tell.
Jesus said we must be “born again”.  This is definitely an experience.  Ask
anyone to whom it has happened and they can tell you precisely where they were and what they were doing at the time.

I am convinced there are millions of “Christians” who claim to be God’s child who have only experienced some religious experience.  To be born again we must do more than simply believe in Jesus.  John 1:12 declares, “to as many as those who receive Him to them gave He the right to become one of the children of God, even to those who believe in His Name. [JESUS]

If you haven’t received Jesus as your Lord and Savior what is stopping you
from doing so right now?  If you are truly sorry for your sins and will
focus your mind upon Jesus nailed upon the cross for them you will find
yourself in a state of repentance. Repentance is a serious attitude that you do not want to retrace your past steps in life; you want to live for God and are very serious about it.

Many have invited Jesus to come into their life and discovered He didn’t come, at least not then.  Repentance is a requirement for salvation!  Think about it for a second, do you honestly believe the Lord of the Universe wants to come into anyone’s life and then argue as to who sits on the Throne Chair?  He is Lord of Lord’s and King of King’s and He will not share His glory with anyone.

Please understand anyone who refuses to repent, will miss eternal life in Heaven.

When you and I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus, the Wonderful Holy Spirit comes into our hearts and kindles life.  His life is like a flame.  He will begin to help us turn more and more from old habits and at the same time energize the faith that is within us.  Even a bit of faith is powerful and can allow us to “do the works God has prepared for us”.  Isn’t this so?

If you want to experience this, all it takes is the commitment.  God is
thrilled when some of His children actually want to work in the Kingdom.  If your heart is sincere, you will see what I mean real soon.  God has hidden His joy for you here too!

Lets get busy building real strong faith and start reaching the lost with
God’s message of eternal hope.

Lets tell all who will listen to us how we
received Amazing Grace.

Lets tell them of the criminal on the cross next to Jesus who was told by Jesus, “today you shall be with me in Paradise”.  This man was very bad and yet when he turned by faith to Jesus he was instantly forgiven.  There is hope for everyone who will respond to God’s offer of grace.

Will you help me reach them today and tomorrow and all of the tomorrows until the Lord takes us home?
