What's The Worst Sin To God?

Lucifer, the grandest of all angels, it was said fell because he wanted to be not like God but better than God.   In fact, he wanted to be above God. This assumption is born from Isaiah and his prophesying against the king of Babylon, and through many other scriptures throughout the bible.

In Fact, Lucifer was chosen by God.

Instead he decided he wanted to be more than God had given him to be, what do we call this?  ENVY!

Envy is a little sin, Satan tells us; but God says, it's a biggy!

Look at the 10 commandments, they ALL grow mainly from the root or the sin of envy.

EX 20:17 "Do not covet your neighbor's house. Do not covet your neighbor's wife, male or female servant, ox or donkey, or anything else your neighbor owns."

Coveting and envy are one and the same.  Look at this Commandment, you will notice where God has placed it, right up there with the badies, murder and the such.

Look at your life, where do your sins come from if not from envy.

THE WORST SIN

Robbie L. Rogers

ISAIAH 14:12--17.  "How you are fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning! You have been thrown down to the earth, you who destroyed the nations of the world. For you said to yourself, 'I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God's stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north. I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.'

But instead, you will be brought down to the place of the dead, down to its lowest depths. Everyone there will stare at you and ask, 'Can this be the one who shook the earth and the kingdoms of the world? Is this the one who destroyed the world and made it into a wilderness? Is this the king who demolished the world's greatest cities and had no mercy on his prisoners?'"

ENVY, OR TO PUT IT IN OTHER WORDS INSECURITY- that is what caused Lucifer the prettiest angel to fall into the depths of shoal. But ,I am sure he uttered these familiar words, I knew you to be an unjust God reaping where you did not sew, a familiar line to us all no doubt.

The great deceiver caught in his own trap, Babylon too sank beneath the sands of time as we seem to know through science of today. Obviously there lies a great controversy over Lucifer's or Satan's reign over Babylon as to whether or not he was in fact Satan on earth, we will not get into those things for we will be talking on the sins that created the fall of Lucifer or Satan.

GENESIS 3:1--5 "Now the serpent was the shrewdest of all the creatures the Lord God had made. "Really?" he asked the woman. "Did God really say you must not eat any of the fruit in the garden?"

"Of course we may eat it," the woman told him. "It's only the fruit from the tree at the center of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God says we must not eat it or even touch it, or we will die."

"You won't die!" the serpent hissed.  "God knows that your eyes will be opened when you eat it. You will become just like God, knowing everything, both good and evil."

If you can see this you will note also Adam and Eve's fall comes from the same root of sin. ENVY has caused most of the trouble both in heaven and on earth.  Satan seems to be able to attack us freely as he did with Job; but it was also a factor in Gods heavenly kingdom as well.

Now of course, God sent Christ into the world to show the angels and His creation the greatest of all creation, forgiveness. However without ENVY would He have needed it?  Yes but that's another story.

Envy is too quick and easy to fall into, and too deep sometimes to climb out from once we are ensnared.

2 CORIN 12:20-21 "For I am afraid that when I come to visit you I won't like what I find, and then you won't like my response. I am afraid that I will find quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfishness, backstabbing, gossip, conceit, and disorderly behavior. Yes, I am afraid that when I come, God will humble me again because of you. And I will have to grieve because many of you who sinned earlier have not repented of your impurity, sexual immorality, and eagerness for lustful pleasure."

This is interesting don't you think, the world, of whom is in the power of Satan considers envy to be a little sin. If you were Satan and fell from Gods graces would you want people to know what had caused it?  Of course you have to realize he is Satan and has no love or charity in him.

God however, seems to consider envy to be the greatest of all sins. This is not to be a proven fact, but I have observed it to be so.  There is little to convince me otherwise.  There are some offshoot instances, but by-in-large ENVY CAUSES ALL SINS.

James 3:16 "For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and every kind of evil."

Where is your life among these things?

As Job said it, "For the Things I fear the most come upon me."

Look at your roots, see them as they are. Half the problem is solved if it is first perceived.  Ask God for His help in this matter, for the subtle sin of envy seems to be insurmountable.

We reject you Satan; you must flee from us as God has commanded you to.

We resist your thoughts of envy and self doubt for we choose God who is in control of our life.

We choose God over you any day anytime.

We accept our station in the vineyards, where God has placed us both professionally and socially, for to be envious or rebellious of where God has placed us is against God and we stand for God even though it goes against our flesh, for we stand not in flesh but in the spirit of God. Therefore we will not envy any person nor their position or place.

We will ask God for any change in statue or position.

We desire and hope in Him that we may be raised up.

We ask Holy Spirit to help us, for we are only flesh and easily pulled into Satan's power.

We are weak and unable to stand against Satan, but as man filled with the Holy Spirit and in the power and in the will of God we will prevail, help us oh God to throw down the sin of envy and therefore become freer from sin, and more liken to the love of man you have desired us to be.
