How Does God Protect us?

It’s usually easy for us to take God’s protection for granted. We seldom take notice or thank God when our car doesn’t break down, our clothes don’t rip, or our tools don’t break.

The people of Israel also failed to take notice, it seems, for they didn’t even notice that in 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, their clothes didn’t wear out and their feet didn’t blister or swell. Thus, they did not remember to give thanks to God for these blessings.

What has been working well for you?

What has been giving you good service?

What has been lasting for a long time without breaking down or apart?

Remember to thank God for these quiet blessings.

God provides legions of angels to watch over us, plus He is infinitely interested in our lives.  There is no place we can run or hide from His love and protection.

Our best weapon... prayer!  Use it constantly in prayer without ceasing, he will hear you, you can count on it!

The Israelites failed to enter the Promised Land because they did not believe in God’s protection, and they did not believe that God would help them conquer the giants in the land.  So God sent them into the wilderness to wander for 40 years.

This was an unhappy alternative to the wonderful gift he had planned for them.

Where are you in your journey?  In the wilderness or in green pastures?   A lack of trust in God always prevents us from receiving his best.

Put On the Whole Armor of God

 Robbie L. Rogers

Through earnest prayer ASK FOR HIS PROTECTION, dress with GOD'S HOLY ARMOR, allow the Holy Spirit to help you:

I. Wash in the cleansing BLOOD OF CHRIST, that you may be made free from sin, and the desire thereof.

II. GIRDLE OF TRUTH, that your sinful nature might be held in check (however beware ye stand lest ye fall), stand only in Christ, admitting your nature, claiming God's truth, empowered against falsehood.

III. BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, that your spirit may always be protected, that it may remind you to face the enemy in power of God's righteousness given to you through Christ.  Relying on God to protect your back side, and the faith to know He will.

IV. SHOES that you might follow in His footsteps and spread the good news, forgetting stumbles, stones, thorns, and danger that could lie ahead.  Press on, knowing Christ through the Holy Spirit is with you, knowing this walk with Him is in peace.

V. The SHIELD OF FAITH, that you may be able to stand guard against attack, the strength to hold it up, and the trust to stand in faith, victoriously triumphant.  God will protect you.

VI. The HELMET OF SALVATION, that the weight of it may remind you of your salvation and whence it comes.

VII. The SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, that you might use the word of God, not to kill but to expose for healing, kept sharp by daily reading, one of the quickest ways to a successful Christian life!

VIII. The CLOAK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, that you may be comforted while walking behind the cross, following Christ, never leading.  Listen attentively for guidance, allowing the Holy Spirit to be your best friend, thereby praying without ceasing.
