 Confused???!

It is so disgusting now to turn on the TV or pick up a newspaper as it constantly proclaims the violence and immoral behavior so beloved by our citizenry now.

God hates evil and we must too.

Where are the accounts of the good works hidden in the paper?

I look for them but sometimes can’t find a single one to bless the Lord with. The reason is very simple or at least to me. Christians are being suckered into the sickening lifestyle so opposite of holiness.

Do you think for a single second that God winks at these things?   Trust me He doesn’t and it is all being written down for Judgment Day.

The Bible makes it so clear that we will be rewarded according to our works.

If you want to know more, read on.

Which verse in John chapter 3 is the most important, 16 or 36? So you can make a decision for yourself I have copied both verses from the Amplified Bible.

“For God so deeply loved and prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.” verse 16

“And he who believes in (has faith in, clings to, relies on) the Son has (now possesses) eternal life. But whoever disobeys (is unbelieving towards, refuses to trust in, disregards, is not subject to) the Son will never see (experience ) life, but [instead] the wrath of God abides on him. [God‘s displeasure remains on him, His indignation hangs over him continually.] verse 36

The former verse is the most popular verse in the Bible and is used constantly. How many times have you heard the second verse in a sermon? I am nearly 69 and I think I have only heard a message on it a time or two. Why do you think this is the case?

The first one points out the great love God has for the world and by implication all who live upon it. However, there is a scripture that tells us that God loves those who love Him and we should take notice of it. I have come to believe that only a few really love the Lord “openly“. Many must be closet Christians by choice but how can they please Him? How in the world can we ever be persecuted, something promised by Jesus to His followers, if we act like covert CIA agents?

No one wants to be persecuted but those who love the Lord with all of their hearts are like our brave fighting men and women now serving in dangerous places like Iraq and Afghanistan. They have placed themselves in harms way to protect our freedoms and safety here in America. The hateful Islamic militants that flew our airliners into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon would have struck us time and time again if not for their sacrifice. I love our warriors and pray daily for them and their families.

Satan is like them in that he is striking hard at families all over the world seeking to destroy the very fabric of our society. I am ashamed to say he has been extremely successful, due to the impotent army of God, now calling itself Christian. I think we have bought more into verse 16 than 36. This whole chapter is extremely important to us and should be eaten and digested until it is part of us. Otherwise Satan will continue to win.

God hates evil and we must too. It is so disgusting now to turn on the TV or pick up a newspaper as it constantly proclaims the violence and immoral behavior so beloved by our citizenry now. Where are the accounts of the good works hidden in the paper? I look for them but sometimes can’t find a single one to bless the Lord with. The reason is very simple or at least to me. Trust me He doesn’t and it is all being written down for Judgment Day. The Bible makes it so clear that we will be rewarded according to our works.

Now please understand, I know as you do that our works will not save us. God says they can’t in Ephesians 2:8-9. But if you want to have a great day everyday please read and use verse 10. For nearly 25 years it has been my verse. It says that [because I am born again] God has prepared works for me to do, or walk in. He isn’t kidding either as I find that every day is like a treasure hunt and an opportunity to fight the enemy.

When I left worship Sunday I stopped to buy a Coke for my wife. A woman and her husband were standing next to me and she was suffering with her teeth. I asked if she was a Christian and both said they were. I then asked if I could pray for her. The clerk and bag boy were shocked that “out of the blue” there was ministry going on right before them. As I walked away the bag boy gave me an admiring glance. I knew God had set it up and nothing was going to get into the way of Him loving this woman through me.

I could have been persecuted for it but instead I left with a bit of Joy that was precious to me. Would you believe that I haven’t been found worthy to suffer physical harm for Jesus and I’ve been serving Him openly now for almost 37 years? If you are afraid to step out and be of use to the Lord, don’t be. If you and I were to even lose our lives serving the Lord we would receives the martyr’s crown or the most beautiful of all.

No one should seek it but if it should happen to us like when our beloved service members make the ultimate sacrifice for our country we honor them as hero’s and patriots. Jesus said, “No greater love than when one gives up his life for his friends.”

If you are willing to be used [please do not volunteer for a specific overseas mission trip] tell Him you want to be sent. He will put you to work in the fields white for harvest. Pray with me that He will send more workers into the harvest as time is running out. There is a day coming when no one can be saved.

If you have not come to know Jesus in a personal or intimate way, what is stopping you right now in appealing to Him? Your sins were upon Jesus as He died on the cross. His Blood was the payment needed to satisfy God’s Holy Wrath. He suffered so you will never have to pay for them. If you understand this you will love Jesus more than anyone. Your obedience to Jesus as your Lord should be automatic now. When did Jesus ever say we didn’t have to obey Him? Those who do will find Him to be their Savior too!
